Crispy Salami-Crusted Cod
A savory, textured dish where salty, minced salami and toasted breadcrumbs create a flavorful golden crust for delicate cod.
Ingredients
- 2 Cod fillets
- 4 slices Salami, finely minced
- 2 slices White bread, toasted and crumbled
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Achieve a crispy texture by ensuring the bread is well-toasted before crumbling.
- Toast the white bread until very dry and crisp, then crush it into fine breadcrumbs.
- Mix the toasted breadcrumbs and the minced salami together in a shallow bowl.
- Season the cod fillets on both sides with salt and pepper.
- Dip each fillet into the beaten egg, then press firmly into the salami-breadcrumb mixture to coat both sides thoroughly.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the cod for 3–4 minutes per side, or until the crust is golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
Serve immediately while the crust is at its maximum crunch.
